WEISS SR065S Linear Actuator

The SR-S series of actuators combines the high force and precision characteristics of a ball screw drive with a compact and durable profile rail guideway design. The mechanism is housed within a precision extruded aluminum profile reducing internal contamination and providing several mounting options. The high quality ball screws are manufactured to either ISO7 or ISO5 tolerance class and are available with multiple lead options on each of four actuator sizes. .

    • Multiple carriages are available to reinforce load capacity and increase bearing lifetime

    • The carriage comes machined with tapped mounting and precision dowel holes to simplify accurate attachement of tooling

    • A variety of accesories including limit switches, mounting hardware, motor adapters and couplers are available as well as a full range of connection adapters to streamline the design of multi-axis configurations with other WEISS actuators

SR-S Linear Actuator FAQs

The following frequently asked questions provide a quick overview of the WEISS SR-S Series Linear Actuators. These precision ball-screw driven linear units are designed to deliver accurate positioning, high rigidity, and reliable performance in demanding automation environments. The FAQs below address common questions related to application use, configuration options, and the advantages of SR-S actuators in modern automated production systems.

What type of drive system and guide are utilized in the WEISS SR-S series?

The SR-S series features a precision ball screw drive (ISO7 tolerance standard) combined with an integrated, zero-backlash ball rail guide system.

Does the SR-S series offer protection against industrial contaminants?

Yes, the internal mechanics are fully shielded. A corrosion-resistant protection strip seals the 6063 AL aluminum profile, preventing dust and particulate contaminants from reaching the internal ball screw and guide rails.

Can the SR-S series maintain high speeds over extended stroke lengths?

Yes. For longer strokes, the SR-S series can be equipped with an integrated ball screw support system. These highly wear-resistant plastic supports reduce vibrations and deflections, enabling higher axial loads and maintaining high speeds over greater distances.

What is the maintenance procedure for the SR-S series?

Routine maintenance is highly efficient. The carriage is equipped with a central lubrication port that allows for single-point re-lubrication of both the ball screw and the ball rail guide without requiring disassembly of the unit.

Does the SR-S series support dual-carriage or clamping operations?

Yes, the SR-S series is available in a specialized 2LR configuration. This version utilizes rigidly connected right- and left-handed precision ball screws to drive two carriages simultaneously in opposite directions, making it ideal for automated clamping applications.
