Electric Cylinder FAQs

The following frequently asked questions provide a quick overview of the WEISS PC-S Series Electric Cylinders. The PC-S Series of electric cylinders fit the high force and accurate positioning capabilities of a precision ball screw drive into the form factor of a pneumatic cylinder. The FAQs below address common questions related to application use, configuration options, and the advantages of PC-S Series Electric Cylinders in modern automated production systems.

What type of drive system is used in the WEISS PC-S series?

The WEISS PC-S series utilizes a precision ball screw drive system, designed to deliver high positioning accuracy, controlled motion, and reliable force transmission for demanding applications.

What applications are best suited for the PC-S series?

The PC-S series is ideal for applications requiring precise linear positioning and controlled movement, such as assembly operations, testing systems, metrology processes, and other applications where accuracy and stiffness are critical.

How does the PC-S series handle load and precision requirements?

The actuator is built around a rigid aluminum profile combined with an integrated linear guide system. This configuration provides high load capacity, excellent stiffness, and accurate, repeatable positioningโ€”even under varying load conditions.

How are internal components protected from contamination?

The PC-S series incorporates a sealing system designed to protect the ball screw and guide components from dust and contaminants, helping maintain long-term accuracy and operational reliability in industrial environments.

What maintenance is required for the PC-S series actuators?

Routine maintenance includes periodic lubrication of the ball screw and guide system. The design allows for accessible service points, enabling efficient maintenance and supporting long service life.
