WEISS BR080Z Linear Actuator

The BR-Z series of actuators combines a steel reinforced polyurethane belt drive with a compact and sturdy profile rail guideway design; the drive block concept makes this actuator particularly well suited to vertical axis applications and enables the possibility of multiple independent carriages. The mechanism is housed within a precision extruded aluminum profile reducing internal contamination and providing several mounting options. The carriage and end blocks come machined with tapped mounting and precision dowel holes to simplify accurate attachment of tooling. A variety of accessories including limit switches, mounting hardware, motor adapters and couplers are available as well as a full range of connection adapters to streamline the design of multi-axis configurations with other WEISS actuators.

Linear Actuator FAQs

The following frequently asked questions provide a quick overview of the WEISS BR-Z Series Linear Actuators. These combine a steel reinforced polyurethane belt drive with a compact and sturdy profile rail guideway design. The drive block concept makes this actuator particularly well suited to vertical axis applications and enables the possibility of multiple independent carriages. The FAQs below address common questions related to application use, configuration options, and the advantages of BR-D actuators in modern automated production systems.

What type of drive system is used in the WEISS BR-Z series?

The WEISS BR-Z series utilizes a pre-tensioned, steel-reinforced polyurethane timing belt drive system. This configuration supports high-speed linear motion while maintaining consistent positioning accuracy and repeatability.

What applications are best suited for the BR-Z series?

The BR-Z series is designed for dynamic industrial applications that require fast, repeatable linear movement. Common uses include automated assembly systems, packaging lines, material handling, and multi-axis positioning applications.

How does the BR-Z series ensure precise guidance and load stability?

Each actuator incorporates dual, parallel zero-backlash rail guide systems integrated into a rigid aluminum profile. This design enables stable motion, high load capacity, and accurate positioningโ€”even under demanding operating conditions.

How are internal components protected in industrial environments?

The BR-Z series includes a corrosion-resistant, anti-static polyurethane sealing strip that protects the internal drive and guide components from dust and contaminants, helping maintain long-term performance.

What maintenance is required for the BR-Z series actuators?

Maintenance is simplified through integrated lubrication ports on the carriage, allowing for quick and efficient re-lubrication of the guide system without disassembly. This reduces downtime and supports reliable, long-term operation.
